Carrollton Animal Hospital is full service veterinary hospital offering comprehensive medicine and surgery of dogs, cats and small exotic pets.  We promote our comprehensive wellness programs for all ages to keep your pets healthier so they can live longer. When your pet is ill we are able to provide state of the art diagnostic procedures with our in-house x-ray unit and on-site blood analyzers.  We perform all surgical procedures in our sterile surgery suite and patients are closely supervised in our hospitalization area.  We can offer advanced dentistry including dental radiography and restorative treatments. When you need to leave your pets we have indoor boarding kennels with a large outdoor play area.

    Michael W. McGuire, DVM, Practice Owner

    Dr. Michael McGuire has worked the veterinary medical field since he was a sophomore in high school. He began by volunteering to clean kennels at a veterinary clinic in spring, Texas but soon earned a position as Veterinary Technician. He is a 1995 graduate of the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, his first job was at a busy small animal, exotic and avian practice in Plano. In 1996 he purchased North Irving Animal Clinic where he ran the single doctor practice for seven years. In 2003, Dr. McGuire purchased Carrollton Animal Hospital and continuously strives to improve the quality of medicine he offers his patients as well as customer service provided.

    Dr. McGuire is a member of several veterinary organizations including the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Feline Practitioners, Texas Veterinary Medical Association, Dallas County Veterinary Medical Association, American Heartworm Society, and the Association of Sugar Glider Veterinarians.  Dr. McGuire has now completed the course work to become credited in the use of Vet-Stem Small Animal Regenerative Stem Cell Therapy.  He is also a member of the Veterinary Information Network, an online veterinary community, that allows him to interact daily with veterinarians from around the world discussing interesting cases and new technologies that help us improve our patients' health and safety, both while in our hospital and at their own home.

  • Kimberly Kovar, Practice Manager

    Kimberly Kovar, Practice Manager

    Kimberly, our practice manager began here at Carrollton Animal Hospital as a receptionist in 2008. She is a graduate of The Colony High School class of 2000 and always enjoyed participating in anything animal related. Kimberly, is one of the first and last faces you see when you come and visit us, and you can bet that she is always happy to see you. Although Kimberly has spent most of her veterinary career as a receptionist she also has had training as a technician, making her a jack of all trades!  At home she enjoys the company of her 8 year old Yorkshire terrier Bodhi (aka Big Man) who has a personality to match his nick name.

  • Rachael Brady

    Rachael Brady

    Rachael joined our team in October of 2010, having been in the veterinary field for 5 years she has done it all from receptionist to technician and even a hospital manager. You will usually see her smiling face when you walk in the front door but from time to time she is assisting Dr. McGuire in surgery or in an exam. Rachael often finds strays or abandoned pets that are in need of a forever home and fosters them until they are able to be placed into rescue organiztions. She has two adorable felines at home to keep her company, Scarlett and Wyatt. When she isn't working she enjoys spending time with her friends and family

    JJ Clark

    JJ joined our team in September 2010, she has been a veterinary technician for over 4 years. Her love and dedication to the well being of animals is evident in the care and attention she displays with our patients. An animal lover all her life she has 4 cats at home, Joker, Jolie, Manny and Toby. She often opens her home and heart to pets in need and fosters them until there forever homes can be found. Pets needing to be bottle fed are her specialty! When shes not caring for pets at work she enjoys photography, reading a variety of books, cooking, swimming, and spending time with friends.

    Jennifer Boyd

    Jennifer, has been in the veterinary field for 7 years. She joined our team in November of 2011. She started as a kennel technician and quickly moved to technician and also has training as a receptionist. It’s obvious in her loving smile that she truly cares for the pets and pet parents that we see. At home she has a 4 year old son that enjoys chasing around their 3 cats; Harley, Brody, and Punkin as well as her dog Chopper. She is actively involved in a special needs support group and a passionate advocate for Autism awareness in the DFW area. All in support of her son, who was diagnosed with Autism on January 31st 2010.

    Viola Dominguez, Kennel Supervisor

    Viola has been in the veterinary field for many years.   She looks after our hospitalized patients, as well as the boarders that stay with us.  She assures that the dogs and cats are fed, watered, walked or let in the yard for supervised play, and are clean, comfortable and happy while they are here.   She also monitors and watches for any potential problems, such as loss of appetite, strange behavior or any sign of illness and immediately reports any changes to the nursing staff or directly to Dr. McGuire. Viola's native language is Spanish and she is taking classes to learn English as a second language. She is progressing very well. Viola has worked with the clinic for many years and will continue to provide quality care to the animals that come to stay with us, whether for surgery, hospitalization, boarding or just drop off appointments.

    Taylor joined our team as an intern through a program at her high school. She has always wanted to be a part of the the veterinary field and this was an amazing oppurtunity for her to get her feet wet. She plans on becoming a large animal veteranian but for now she is enjoying learning alot and helping us out.

  • Nicole McGuire

    Nicole McGuire

    Nicole has always been an animal lover, with a special place in her heart for cats.  She bred Persian show cats while in college and has been in the veterinary field for fifteen years.  She has a degree in criminal justice from Sam Houston State University. After college, managed a small animal and emergency practice in college station for six years. After moving to the Dallas area she sold veterinary pharmaceuticals in Grapevine before meeting Dr. McGuire.  Generally she handles the rescue side of the clinic but is also very involved in the care of animals. Due to her previous experience as a Technician and  Receptionist she is always able to fill in when needed.

    Nicole Pruski

    Nicole joined our team in March of 2012. She has been a veterinary assistant and receptionisnt for 7 years, starting back when she was a Junior in High School.  Nicole has always had pets in her home and could never imagine a life without them. She has a soft spot in her heart for animals that are in search of their forever homes. Her 2 pets both came from animal shelters, Zoey a 4 year old cat and Ella a 5 year old Pitbull/Terrier mix.
